Meet the Riverside Team Behind Vance Gate Repair Riverside
When your gate stops opening at 6:40 on a Tuesday morning, the person who shows up matters more than the logo on the truck. Our Riverside crew has worked on more than 22,000 gates since 2014, from rusted swing arms in Wood Streets to commercial slide operators off the 91. We’re independently owned and operated, and every technician who walks onto your property is background-checked, uniformed, and carrying a written price before a single tool comes out. That’s not a policy. That’s the way Adrian built this company.
Our People
Adrian Vance, Owner
Adrian founded Vance Gate Repair in 2014 after years of running commercial access-control sites, where every wiring decision got documented and every repair had a paper trail. He brought that same habit to residential gates: photograph what you find, write down what you changed, hand the record to the homeowner. Adrian still handles the hardest diagnostics himself, the ones where the motor hums but the gate doesn’t move. If you call at 2 a.m. with a gate stuck open and a dog in the yard, there’s a decent chance the voice on the phone is his. Off the clock, he’s usually under the hood of a 1967 Ford F-100 that has never once cooperated.
Marcus T., Lead Technician
Marcus has been with Adrian since 2016 and has probably touched every brand of operator we service: LiftMaster, FAAC, BFT, Linear, Viking, Ghost Controls, DoorKing, Elite, and Mighty Mule. His specialty is diagnosing control boards that other companies give up on. He’s the guy who’ll spend 40 minutes tracing a low-voltage short behind a keypad before suggesting a replacement part, because finding the actual fault is faster for the customer than guessing. Marcus keeps a small notebook of every oddball wiring fix he’s done, indexed by neighborhood. He says it’s faster than a laptop. His garage at home has three gate motors mounted on a test bench, which his wife tolerates with a patience we all admire.
Sofia R., Senior Installer
Sofia joined the Riverside crew in 2018 after six years in fabrication and welding. She handles most of our structural work: broken hinge posts, sagging cantilever gates, weld repairs on ornamental iron, and full installations where the existing track and mounts need to be re-engineered rather than just swapped. If your gate is heavy and steel and hasn’t sat level since the Reagan administration, Sofia will measure it twice, explain what’s out of true, and show you a written plan before the welder fires up. She’s certified in MIG and TIG and keeps a pair of calipers in her truck that she actually uses. On weekends she volunteers at a local community woodshop, where she insists she’s just a beginner.
Danny K., Service Coordinator
Danny is the voice on the phone and the person who keeps the day moving. He’s been with Vance Gate Repair for five years and knows the schedule, the parts inventory, and which technician is closest to which neighborhood at any given moment. When you call with a gate that won’t close, Danny’s job is to get you a straight answer, not a callback window. He’s the one who sends the name-and-photo message before your technician arrives, so you know exactly who’s pulling up to your driveway. Danny is also the reason our parts room isn’t a disaster, because he alphabetizes everything twice a year whether it needs it or not. He’ll deny that last part.
One Standard, Every Job

Adrian built Vance Gate Repair around the Haven Standard, and every person above works under the same three clauses. First is Clause 1: a written price before any work begins. You’ll see the number on paper before a wrench touches your gate, and that’s the price you pay. Clause 4 covers documentation: every visit ends with a photo log of what we found, what we adjusted, and what we installed, left with you and filed in our records. And every completed repair carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise, a full year for us to make it right at no additional charge if something we touched fails. That standard doesn’t change from technician to technician. It’s the reason you’ll get the same straight answer from Marcus on a job site that you’ll get from Danny on the phone.
